  • The trial for Robert Joos, a McDonald County self-proclaimed pastor, has been postponed until January after a federal judge approved a motion for a continuance in Springfield on Monday.
Robert Joos faces several weapons charges, including being a felon in possession of firearms, two counts of unlawful transport of firearms and one count of transporting explosive materials interstate.
Joos was arrested in late June as part of an investigation into a 2004 mail bombing in Scottsdale, Ariz., that injured a black city official.
Under federal law, a convicted felon cannot be in possession of firearms. In 1997, Joos was convicted of carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest in connection with a June 1994 incident.
