  • Margie Irene Reed, born July 21, 1910, in Batesville, Ark., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at National Health Care in Joplin, at the age of 102.
Margie was married to Louis Reed, who preceded her in death in 1963.
They are survived by four children: twin daughters, Doris Youngblood, Diamond, and Dorothy Cook, Neosho; and two sons, Bert Reed and wife, Mary, Claremore, Okla., and Michael Reed and wife, Debbie, Carthage.

Margie was a lifelong resident of Carthage and she was proud of it. She lived in Neosho a short time before moving to NHC in 2006. While at NHC, she enjoyed bingo, singing, art, and dancing when she could. She surely touched many lives and will be missed by many.

Margie's family will gather for a graveside service at 2 p.m. today with her grandson, Greg Cook, and her great-grandson, Gabe Cook officiating.
Friends and family are welcome at the graveside service at Park Cemetery in Carthage, under direction of Knell Mortuary.
