Herman Cooper, Jr., 73, Neosho, died Sept. 9, 2012, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Pineville, to George Herman and Lucille (Collins) Cooper.
A lifelong area resident, Herman was a self-employed auto mechanic and also worked for Talbot Wire.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Michael Cooper.
Herman is survived by his spouse, Betty Cooper; six children; Robert Cooper, Goodman, Carrie Mae Cooper, Kansas City, Kan., Gary Cooper, Kansas City, Kan., Jason Cooper, Neosho, Brenda Cooper, Kansas City, Kan., Linda Hufford, Louisburg, Kan.; five step-children; one brother, James Locke, SanJose, Calif.; one uncle, Haden Cooper, Anderson; four sisters, Carrie Proctor, Neosho, Phyllis Bruder, North Glenn, Colo., Sue Adair, Olney Springs, Colo., Mickie Lico, San Jose, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., Wednesday, at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. The funeral will be 10 a.m., Thursday, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, and interment will be in Union Cemetery, south of Stella.
