Lawrence Ray Pendergraft, 88, passed Sept. 15, 2012, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, following an illness.
He was born June 04, 1924, in Neosho, to Floyd and Laura (Brown) Pendergraft. He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and one brother.
Mr. Pendergraft was a lifelong resident of Neosho and was a carpenter for Bingham Brothers Construction in Joplin for more than 40 years before retirement. He was a graduate of Neosho High School and a member of the Carpenters Local Union. He was also an Army veteran, having served during World War II.
Lawrence married Ula Jennings on Nov. 27, 1951 in Bentonville, Ark., and she survives. He is also survived by his four children, Garry Pendergraft, Neosho, Debbie Leake, Joplin, Vicky Sullenger, Joplin, Tony Pendergraft, Neosho; two sisters, Helen Richards, Neosho, Ettabell Kelly, Chickasha, Okla.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Clark Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, Neosho.
Interment will be at IOOF Cemetery, Neosho, Dr. Jerry Seigel officiating. Full military services will be at graveside.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. -7 p.m. today, and the family will receive friends from 6 -7 p.m., Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Pallbearers will be Brad Leake, Clinton Mitchell, Nathan Mitchell, Christopher Pendergraft, Mike Pendergraft, Jeff Pendergraft.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
