The Neosho Daily News has 19 contestants participating in the 2012-2013 NFL UPICKEM contest.

Nationally, there are 177,533 people who play the game, with one winner selected each week to receive a Fathead of the player of their choice.

That's a lot of competition, but the right picks can give a contestant bragging rights for a lifetime. Just ask Diamond cross country and track coach Brent Jordan. He's the national winner for week two.

"I was working and everything and didn't really have a chance to look at it right away," Jordan said. "I did well week one, but then I finally had a chance to log on and look at week two (Wednesday)."

Bam. Jordan realized he'd correctly picked 15 of the 16 games for the week, besting 177,532 others.

"I grabbed the phone and called several of my buddies," Jordan quipped.

It's a long season and there are 19 weeks left in the contest, but Jordan currently sits one game behind the overall leader and is in fourth place. If he can keep this pace up, Jordan could find himself competing for a trip to Hawaii, a $5,000 value that goes to the overall national winner at the end of the season.

Jordan said he received an email on Thursday from the contest congratulating him. He'll choose which likeness to stick on his wall. As of Thursday morning he'd narrowed it down to two quarterbacks. Brett Favre, his all-time favorite, or current Jets backup Tim Tebow.

Regardless of which player he picks, Jordan says he'll probably share something in common with both signal callers — he'll catch of grief from those around him for making a pick.

"Right now, shoot, I'll put the Fathead to use," Jordan said. "I know everyone here at the office will give me flak for choosing either of those two (players). I used to have a man-crush on Favre, but now it's switched a bit to Tebow."

But it's his other similarity to the quarterbacks that will aid his comeback to the teasers. He's bested everyone. He's won, and he'll have a trophy on the wall to prove it.
