  • Neosho let one slip away in the first set against Webb City and lost in straight sets, 29-27, 25-14 in Central Ozark Conference Large Division play Tuesday.
    The Lady Wildcats took a 20-12 lead in the first set and appeared in line for the victory until a couple of errors allowed the Lady Cardinals back in it. Neosho couldn’t hold them off, and the Lady Cardinals kept the momentum in their favor while cruising in the second set.
    Reba Potts led the Lady Wildcats with four service points. Matty Liedtke had four kills. Morgan Rogers turned in a pair of blocks and Tori Eads had nine assists.
    Over the weekend the Lady Wildcats had one of their best showing at the Carl Junction Tournament in three years, making it into gold bracket play where they fell to Joplin 25-6, 25-19.
    Neosho began its day on Saturday falling to Carl Junction 25-14, 25-17. They then split with Branson 19-25, 25-23; and split with Pierce City 13-25, 25-22.
    The Lady Wildcats are now 3-11-3 this season.They’ll travel to Willard for a COC Large Division showdown at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
    The Neosho junior varsity defeated Webb City on Tuesday, 11-25, 25-14, 25-7.
    Neosho’s ninth grade team fell to the Lady Cardinals 25-6, 25-19.
