  • Lamar scored three runs in the final two innings to upend Seneca in a Big 8 Conference softball game on Monday.
    The Lady Tigers jumped in front with a run in the bottom of the first and made it hold before adding an insurance run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to hold off the Lady Indians. Taylor Hardman and Ryan O’Sullivan crushed solo homerun’s for Lamar.
    Laren Whyman, Emmie Robertson, Brooke McDonald, O’Sullivan, Hardman and Addie Mayberry had a hit apiece for the Lady Tigers. McDonald, O’Sullivan and Hardman drove in a run apiece.
    Robertson was dominant yet again for the Lady Tigers. She allowed an earned run while scattering four hits with two walks and 13 strikeouts.
    Bree Cornett was also good for the Lady Indians, but was saddled with the loss after allowing three runs on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
    Bailey Skelton, Bailey Durbin, Mirana Heath and Willow Rhoades had a hit apiece for the Lady Indians. Heath drove in Skelton for Seneca’s only run in the top of the sixth.
