  • Organizers of the 16th annual Barnyard Days are gearing up for their three-day event this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Circle R Ranch, north of Neosho.
Friday it will be open from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adult admission is $6 (or $5 with $1 off coupon).

Multi-day pass is $7 (with $1 off coupon makes it $6).
Children under 14 are free with an adult. Parking is free. And coupons are available online at www.barnyarddays.com.
“The purpose of it is for families to have something to go and do – at very low cost – to have a great day or a great weekend of activities,” said Steve Roark, co-owner of Circle R Ranch. “It is family friendly, the rides are only going to be a $1 apiece. Purpose is family entertainment for the four states and I think that is what we have become recognized as.”
The festival has a lot to offer this year from arts and crafts, music, food and commercial exhibitors. Roark noted thus far, more than 150 arts and craft vendors will be onsite, with commercial businesses promoting their service or their product.
Crafters will not only sell their items, but also demonstrate their abilities for the audience. There will also be a petting zoo, antique tractors, pumpkins, children’s rides and musicians during the festival.
Three years ago, the festival took on a new meaning, that of a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks (BCFO). As visitors enter the festival grounds, some vendors will have items catered toward helping raising awareness of breast cancer.
“We already have those (vendors) that will come in with some of those specialty items,” he said. “Our vendor pool now is very much aware of the benefit that Barnyard Days provides to the BCFO. We are one of their significant fundraising events.
The Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks is a resource for individuals and families in Southwest Missouri who are impacted by breast cancer.
A new event this year is the Single Mic Music Contest.
“We have a variety of music from country to bluegrass to gospel to other,” he noted in an earlier interview. “We have one group that has applied that has Americana music.”
