JOPLIN — Organizers with the Ozarks Public Television-KOZJ and Holiday Inn of Joplin’s 23rd annual WineFeast 2012 are gearing up for the Sunday, Oct. 7 event, at the Joplin Holiday Inn, 3615 S. Range Line Rd.
Actually, there are two events that the public can participate in, the first is the Spotlight on Wine from 12:15-2 p.m. Tickets for that one is $60 per person in advance only, seating is limited. The second is WineFeast 2012 from 2:30-5 p.m., tickets are $25 in advance at area CBT locations or $35 the day of the event at Holiday Inn. You must be 21 years of age to attend.
“It is our largest event, it is our biggest fundraiser and that goes toward funding children’s programming,” said Norma Scott, director of development for KOZJ.
The Spotlight on Wine features exceptional wines and select foods. This is a special sit-down presentation and will provide a unique opportunity to taste and sample an array of highly allocated fine wine and specifically paired food.
“That is really a fun event, you come in and we present you with a complimentary glass,” she said.
At the second event, WineFeast, participants will be able to sip and sample more than 100 wines from internationally known wineries, as well as many Missouri wineries including The White Rose, St. James, Stone Hill, Keltoi and Les Bourgeois. There will also be taste testing from some of the area’s finest restaurants and caterers.
A silent auction with items such as wine baskets to household items and art will be auctioned off. Piano music by Ken Oglesby will be playing.
