The Republic volleyball team claimed its third Central Ozark Conference Large Division victory on Tuesday at Neosho, defeating the Lady Wildcats in straight sets 25-11, 25-12.
At 12-4 and 3-0 in the COC, the Lady Tigers proved why they’re a force in the conference. While the Lady Wildcats fought hard and never gave in, according to coach Kerri Roy, the outcome was more a testament to how good Republic is this season.
Alex Botkin led the Lady Tigers with nine kills. Sarah Kreul finished with 22 assists and two aces. Lexi Birlew had 11 digs.
Leading the way for the Lady Wildcats was Reba Potts with five service points, Morgan Rogers with two blocks, Tori Eads with seven assists, Sam Duke’s six digs, and Matty Liedtke with three kills.
The loss dropped the Lady Wildcats to 3-13-4, 0-3 conference. Ozark is at Neosho at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Republic won the junior varsity match 25-18, 25-11. They also were victorious in the freshman game 25-15, 25-13.
