  • The Neosho seventh grade football team earned a split in a pair of games against McDonald County on Tuesday.
    The Wildcats cruised in the ‘A’ game, 32-14.
    There was no shortage of offense for the Wildcats in their victory as they amassed 238 total yards on the ground and 58 more through the air.
    A bit if trickery helped the Wildcats put the game away when Keilan Moore took a reverse 46 yards for a touchdown. Brady Wise also paved the way with a pair of touchdowns on 47 yards rushing. Jarvis Funk was the leading rusher for the Wildcats with 85 yards on the ground.
    Adrian Hitchcock scored touchdowns on a one-yard run and a 46-yard interception return. Hank Selig scored on a two-point conversion pass from Gavin Kelly. Adrian Hitchcock led the Wildcats with 10 tackles and Ashley Talley had four. Selig also contributed a fumble recovery.
    Neosho A is now 3-1 and will entertain Webb City at Bob Anderson Stadium on Tuesday.
    The ‘B’ team lost to the Mustangs, 14-8. McDonald County led 8-0 at the half, but Neosho’s Ethan Coon returned a punt 25 yards for a touchdown and Hayden Wood caught a pass for the two-point conversion to tie it 8-8 in the second half. Bu the Mustangs would answer with a 14-yard touchdown run on the final play of the game for the win.
    Nathan Scribner led the Wildcats with 72 yards rushing. Neosho B is now 1-3 overall.
