Velma Brock, 91, passed on Oct. 5, 2012 at Medicalodge, Neosho, following a short illness.
She was born Nov. 25, 1920 in Sedan, New Mexico, to John James and Ellen Elizabeth (Burlingame) Brown.
Mrs. Brock was a lifelong area resident and a homemaker. She asked Jesus into her heart on April 29, 1949 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Anderson. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho, where she was a long time Sunday school teacher.
Velma married JO Brock on Dec. 2, 1936 and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1986.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Bill Brock; one grandson, Randy Brock; five brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Paul and wife, Rita Brock, Neosho, Charles and wife, Dottie Brock, Neosho, Jack and wife, Bonetta Brock, Fairview; daughter-in-law, Ronna Brock, Claremore, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church, Neosho. Interment will be at Stone Cemetery. Alan Brock and Charles Brock officiating; Todd Brock assisting. Friends may call from 10 a.m. -7 p.m. Monday, and the family will receive friends from 6 -7 p.m.; Clark Funeral Home Neosho. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Doug, Bob, Brian, Jim, Deric, and Greg Brock.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
