The Neosho seventh and eighth grade cross country teams competed at the first Tri-County Junior High Cross Country Championship meet at the Lakes Cross Country Course on Saturday in Neosho.

The Neosho seventh and eighth grade cross country teams competed at the first Tri-County Junior High Cross Country Championship meet at the Lakes Cross Country Course on Saturday in Neosho.

The 1.5-mile competition saw the top 15 individual runners in each division receive a medal and plaques were awarded to the top three schools in each division.

The eighth grade boys took second place in their division with a team score of 42 points.

Individual results for the eighth grade boys were: 8th place, Joby Paul 9:43; 14, Tyler Burr 10:08; 20, Seth Van Story 10:34; 21, Trenton Cook 10:37; 22, Adam Haddock 10:44.

Also earning a plaque was the eighth grade girls, who finished in third place with 42 points. Regan Rogers won the individual competition for the Lady Wildcats in a time of 10:25. Other individuals for Neosho were: 7, Anne Vernon 11:01; 10, Katelyn Lowe 11:24; 23, Grace Box 12:50; 25, Kiana Hutchens 13:09.

The seventh grade boys took second as a team. Sam Townsend took third in 9:53, followed by: 13, Gerardo Chairez 10:47; 14, Grant Guillory 11:03; 17, Gant Scudder 11:38; 21, Braxton Pennington 11:54.

The seventh grade girls took fifth place: 13, Heather Bruce 12:21; 16, Katy Bohannon 12:34; 20, Leah Ewing 13:06; 21, Chloe Auch 13:07; 26, Lizet Arteaga (no time listed).
