  • The Sugar Creek Gobblers will be hosting their 3rd annual NIGHT GIG even on Oct. 27, for local youth ages 15-18. The event will be held on Elk River beginning an hour before sunset with participants testing their shotgun sing shooting skills at flying clay targets, and marksmanship with center fire rifles.

  • The Sugar Creek Gobblers will be hosting their 3rd annual NIGHT GIG even on Oct. 27, for local youth ages 15-18. The event will be held on Elk River beginning an hour before sunset with participants testing their shotgun sing shooting skills at flying clay targets, and marksmanship with center fire rifles.
    After shooting, participants will gig fish at night on the river from a flat bottom boat. A fish fry will complete the night’s activities.
    Six participants will be selected through a random drawing. To enter the drawing interested youth can register at www.sugarcreekgobblers.com or call 439-8594.
    Registration deadline is Oct. 21. Eligibility requirements are:  ages 15-18, Missouri fishing license, and National Wild Turkey Federation membership (memberships can be obtained after drawing if selected). Proof of eligibility shall be provided upon request.
