David Noah Heaser, Neosho, passed away in his home on Oct. 22, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was 80 years old.
He was born in Wabasha, Minn., on May 24, 1932, to Ed and Margaret (Stamschror) Heaser who preceded him in death.
Dave was the third of four children: Anita Berg, Donald Heaser, and Greta Konkel, who survive him. Many of Dave’s best memories are of life growing up along the Mississippi River. He loved to tell stories of ice fishing, trapping gophers, and skating on the Mississippi in the winter when it froze over.
Dave met Rose, his wife of 59 years, who survives him, at the skating rink in Kellogg, Minn. They were married on Oct. 24, 1953. Dave served in the Army for two years and worked in many states before purchasing Neosho Charcoal Plant in 1969, growing it into a successful business.
They were blessed with four children who survive him: Jim Heaser, Ridgecrest, Calif., Kathee Cadwell, Joplin, Marla Elliott, Dallas, Texas, and Carla Rupkey, St. Louis, Mo.
Dave was a faithful member of St. Canera Catholic Church as well as Kiwanis. He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus and American Legion. He quite literally traveled around the world, not once, but twice! Dave enjoyed fishing, golfing and four wheeling, but above all, he loved spending time with his “punkins.”
From his life, Dave leaves behind a wonderful family legacy, including five grandchildren who survive him: Tera Lankard, Webb City, Nathan and Allison Elliott, Dallas, Texas, and Brooke and Cooper Rupkey, St. Louis, Mo. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren: Noah and Brady Lankard, Webb City.
A time of sharing and remembrance will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, at Clark Funeral Homes in Neosho. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at St. Canera Catholic Church.
