  • Granby City Council members discussed roof damage at the Granby Annex due to the Sept. 7 storm during Tuesday’s meeting.
“They want to have Paula (Carsel, city clerk) call Rockin’ G Roofing System on a roof repairs, because they were the ones that put the roof on and they want to see if it is still under warranty,” said Sharon Stephenson, city collector. “So possibly they will come and fix that for us before they (council) decide on calling anybody else to look at that.”
Stephenson said that the annex roof has some damage to it, with leaks.
Under new business, the council approved the MSSU annual training contract with the Granby Police Department.
“It is a yearly cost of $1,000,” said Stephenson.
The training is for all of the police officers in Granby.
“It is a certification that they have to keep up with,” she said.
In other business, the group set the date for the Granby Christmas parade for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.
The council also heard from Lamuel Launius about a business license for a new business.
“We had two people that wanted a business license and they want to call it Wendell’s,” she said. “They are going to be buying and selling new and used merchandise at 246 Oak Street. The council decided to table that until the next meeting, because they wanted to have a chance to go look around the neighborhood and see what the area neighborhood feels about that before they make a decision.”
