Neosho police are investigating a Halloween assault in which a man got his throat cut.
No names have been released, pending formal criminal charges, but Neosho Police Chief Dave McCracken said Thursday that the incident occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at Hopi Court, on west McCord Street.
He said two men got into an altercation regarding a female acquaintance, which resulted in one man allegedly slashing the other in the throat with a knife. McCracken said the victim was treated for lacerations on his throat and was later released.
“None of the wounds were life-threatening,” McCracken said.
He said formal charges may be filed today against the alleged attacker.
