  • A Neosho man has been formally accused of cutting and stabbing another man in the throat with a kitchen knife during a Halloween night altercation.
Douglas Gene Robbins, 45, was charged Friday with one count of first degree assault and one count of armed criminal action in connection with an incident that occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. Wednesday in his apartment at 707 W. McCord St. in Neosho.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Robbins got into an altercation with Jordan Eric McGee and allegedly attacked McGee with a kitchen knife. Police officials later said the reason for the fight involved a female acquaintance.
McGee had lacerations around his throat and a puncture wound on the lower left side of his neck. Witnesses told police they saw Robbins with his hands around McGee's neck and also saw McGee bleeding and Robbins holding a kitchen knife in his right hand.
The wounds were deemed “physically serious” in the affidavit, though police officials later said they weren't life threatening. McGee was treated for his injuries and medically released.
