Edward Walter (Ed) Coleman, age 96, of Joplin, formerly of Neosho, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Spring River Christian Village.
Born Jan. 21, 1916, in Oklahoma City, Okla., he was the son of the late Walter and Hazel Augusta Custer Coleman, and had lived in Joplin the past eight years, moving from Neosho.
Ed worked for the former Pet Milk Co. in Neosho from 1942 until retiring as a supervisor in 1978. He served as Past President of Neosho Lions Club, where he had been a member for over 50 years.
On June 19, 1943 he married Marion W. Webb at Miami, Okla. She survives.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Diane Giltner and husband, Ron, of Joplin, Cynthia Price and husband, Steve, of Brier, Wash., and Jan Orban and husband, Tim, of Clinton, NC.; one brother, Lee C. Coleman of Mt. Vernon, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery, Neosho, under the direction of Parker Mortuary. The casket will remain closed.
