Juanita Bernice Lentz, 77, departed this life on Thursday, Nov. 15, at her home, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 8, 1935, in Rosedale, Kan., to Charles and Geneva (Brunson) Myers.
A longtime resident of Newtonia, Juanita worked as a line worker at Tyson Foods, Neosho, for 16 years before her retirement. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Juanita married Jimmy Dale Lentz on Feb. 3, 1968, in Kansas City.
He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2008.
She is survived by daughter, Connie Fields, Newtonia; son, Buck Gates, Granby; step-daughter; Janice McCully and husband, Billy, Stella; brother, Joseph Myers, Osceola, Mo.; sisters, Shirley Green, Flemington, Mo., Lilly Welsch, Kansas City, Mo., Charolett Snyder, Osceola; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Highway 86, Granby. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Stella. Bishop Claud Carter and Rev. Doug Gripka officiating. Friends may call from noon – 4 p.m. today with family receiving friends from 2 – 3 p.m. today at Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
