GRANBY — The city of Granby is looking for members to serve on a community building committee.
"Interested parties that would like to be on that board, come to city hall, call city hall," said Paula Carsel, city clerk. "It doesn't have to be people who live right inside the city limits, you can live outside of Granby. It is appointed by the council.
They operate, supervise, regulate, and maintain the use and maintenance and operation of the community building."
The board is made up of six members and one chairman: three members can live outside the city limits and three can live inside the city limits.
"I have a board chairman – Sue Cole, who was appointed Tuesday night during the city council meeting, and then I need six members," Carsel said.
Under new business, the April 2, 2013, election was noted. There are a few council seats up for that election including: Donna Fullerton as the mayor, Tom Cole in the south ward, Melinda Stribling in the north ward, city collector Sharon Stephenson and municipal judge Steve White.
Filing opens Dec. 11 and closes Jan. 15, 2013.
