Diamond jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as the Wildcats thumped Thomas Jefferson, 67-28, at the Pierce City Tournament on Thursday.
This one was never in doubt for the Wildcats. They opened the game on a 22-7 tear through the first quarter, and it continued with a 23-8 run through the second to give them a commanding 45-15 lead at the half.
Ryan Jinks led the charge with 18 points while Brodie Bien finished with 17, Logan Myers 12, Trent Hayes nine, Michael Bray four, Darren Russow two, Austin Singleton two, Tanner Paradies two and Even Moreland one.
Thurman scored 16 points for the Cavaliers.
“We got after them defensively and limited our turnovers,” Wildcats coach Brandon Rabel said. “(It was a) nice improvement over our first game.”
