The Neosho girls seventh grade basketball team took on Joplin East in the first round of the Tri-County Tournament on Monday and came away with a convincing 66-4 victory.
The Lady Wildcats jumped ahead early and never looked back as they were led in scoring by Alison Burr with 10 points, Cami Roy eight, Caitlyn Jordan, Laken Schnackenberg, Emilee Anderson, Amy Morris and Lindsey Linny with six each, Ashley Talley five, Makayla Hayes four, Jessica VanLear, Josi Rose and Amadiyah Hames two apiece and Tori Frazier one.
The girls previously continued to tear through the win column with a pair of victories at Aurora in the regular season finale on Thursday.
The Lady Wildcats opened the night with a 42-29 victory in the “A” game. Allison Burr led the way with 13 points while Ashley Talley followed with 12, Jessica VanLear seven, Makayla Hayes six, and Laken Schnackenberg and Emilee Anderson with two each.
The “B” team handled Aurora with ease, 39-6.
Neosho jumped ahead early in the game and never allowed Aurora the chance to get back in it. Amy Morris paced the Lady Wildcats with 12 points while Josi Rose added six, Emilee Anderson five, Tori Frazier four, and Alyssa Sanders, Amadiyah Hames and Caitlyn Jordan with two apiece.
The “A” team closed the regular season with an unblemished 10-0 record.
The “B” squad closed its regular season at 9-1.
The seventh graders travel to Nevada on Monday to take on Joplin East in the Tri-County Tournament.
