  • The shooting woes continued on Tuesday for the Crowder Lady ‘Riders, but it didn’t matter this time as they edged North Arkansas College, 55-52 in a thriller.
Following a Caprese Marshall layup to put the Lady ‘Riders in front, 53-52, with less than a minute remaining in the game, confusion ensued. During a North Arkansas possession with less than 10 seconds remaining, an official called a charge on a North Arkansas ball handler. But a second official overruled the judgment, instead citing a block on the Lady ‘Riders and giving North Arkansas two foul shots with a few ticks remaining.
However, sort of graciously, North Arkansas missed both shots and Crowder’s Terai Sadler pulled in the rebound, was fouled, and made two free throws with two-tenths of a second remaining to seal the victory.
“It was back and forth the whole game,” Lady ‘Riders coach Tina Robbins said. “We struggled again offensively tonight. We shot it very poorly from the field, but we got some plays there at the end to win it.”
Sadler and Marshall both scored 14 points for the Lady ‘Riders while Camila Lacerda chipped in nine, Sarah Sagely, Veronica Amos and Seleena Neal had five, Megan Ritter two and Dorian Briggs one.
Sadler also led the team with 11 rebounds while Lacerda chipped in nine and Amos eight. Lacerda also had five assists and two steals. Sagely picked up three steals while Amos added two.
Allie Wade and Hanna Case both scored 11 for North Arkansas while Dandra Campbell chipped in 10.
Crowder (11-2) entertains Pratt (Kan.) Community College at 2 p.m. Saturday.
