  • Winners of the past six Missouri Duals tournaments, the Neosho Wildcats wrestling team saw that streak come to an end Saturday as they fell in the title match to the No. 47 team by Intermat in the country, Omaha (Neb.) Burke, 30-28.
The streak is over, but all is not lost for the Wildcats, who took two teams and 29 wrestlers to the event, as they exited the event a more united team, according to coach Jeremy Phillips.
“(We) came out a closer, more united team,” Phillips said. “That was my main goal for us. We learned a lot, I believe, and grew in many ways despite ultimately falling short.
“We had our opportunities, and I really hope this group will use this weekend to propel us to our true potential and not detour our efforts.
