  • With both teams coming off a week long layoff, the Diamond and Seneca girls basketball teams were back in action in a regular season game on Monday at Seneca High School.
In the end, the Lady Wildcats were too much for the Lady Indians to handle, as solid offensive execution led them to a 36-28 victory.
In a game as evenly matched as this one, Diamond used its size advantage to grab points inside the paint, and eventually a win.
“I thought we did a good job executing what we wanted to do offensively,” Lady Wildcats coach Brian Brimacombe said. “We used size to our advantage.”
Cady Littlefield helped bury the Lady Indians with 15 points while teammate Hannah Million pitched in 12, Heather Wilson seven and Lauren Olson two.
Scorers for the Lady Indians were Mirana Heath and Molli Cooper with eight, Heather Wilson seven, Elena Wood five, Lauren Olson, Rachel Butterfield and Bailey Skelton two and Courtney Cook with one.
Diamond improved to 4-2 this season, and travels to Jasper to kick of Spring River Valley Conference play at 6 p.m. today.
Seneca won the junior varsity game, 45-25.
