Ralph Jackson Davis, 81, Neosho, died Dec. 10, 2012, at his home in Neosho, following a short illness.
R. J. was born April 23, 1931 in Council Bluff, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Edith (Harvel) Davis. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea and was an independent agent for Banker's Life and Casualty Insurance Company. He was a member of the VFW, Masonic Lodge and the First Congregational Church, where he served as a deacon.
R. J. is survived by his longtime companion, Betty Lammey, Carthage; two sons, Jack Davis, Jr., Stella, Jim Davis and Sherry Ramsay, Goodman; and a daughter, Diana Davis, Springfield, Va.; one grandson, Jerimiah Davis, Neosho; two great-grandchildren, Christian Davis and Elora Davis; and a sister, Doris Shobe, Council Bluff, Iowa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Faith Davis and seven siblings.
The body has been taken for cremation and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. The family will receive friends following the memorial service until 11 a.m.
