  • Parkview’s boys basketball team put on a defensive showing on Friday as they jumped ahead of Neosho early and never looked back, downing the Wildcats 58-15 in a varsity game at Parkview High School.
    The Vikings didn’t allow more than six points in any quarter as the Wildcats moved the ball, but struggled to knock down shots. A 20-6 stretch through the first quarter put the Vikings in the driver’s seat for good.
    Erik Durham was an offensive force, amassing 21 points for Parkview while also turning in a solid defensive effort. DeSean McCrimmens and C.J. Green both pitched in 10 points in the victory while Darius Perry rattled in seven, Nate Haire three, Nathan Reichert four, Connor Ratcliff two and Autry Accord one.
    Caden Hendricks led the Wildcats with three points while Chris Paullus, Kaden Roy, Darrian Guillory, Logan Stuart, Andy Lett and Lukas Werneke scored two apiece.
    Neosho (0-6) entertains Aurora at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
    The Neosho junior varsity team lost a 59-56 thriller in double-overtime.
