An Arkansas woman suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash that took place on Route J in Southwest City.
Launa J. Craig, 25, of Sulphur Springs, was airlifted to Joplin’s Freeman West Hospital for treatment.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened sometime after midnight Friday as Craig, southbound in a 1996 Ford Focus, failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off of the right side of the road. The car struck a fence and a tree before overturning. The crash was discovered at about 7:15 a.m. that morning.
It is not known if Craig was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, a patrol report noted.
