Elizabeth (Libby) Boyt passed away peacefully at her home in rural Neosho, on Dec. 21, 2012, after a brief illness.
She was a well-known artist who expressed her love of horses through media of canvas, clay, and stone. Libby shared her passion for art and horses with hundreds of students during her teaching career at Crowder College.
Elizabeth was born Dec. 26, 1922, in Boulder, Colo.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Boyt; her sister, Louise Goss; four children, Elizabeth, Art, David, and Peter; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Whetzel; her father, Raymond Whetzel; her sister, Janet Curts; and her son Raymond Boyt.
Libby was a kind, gentle soul who nurtured and cared for five generations of family. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. The family plans a small, private service.
