Wilma Ruth Phillips, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 2, 2013, at Medicalodge in Neosho.
Wilma was born July 16, 1922, in Wheaton, the daughter of Fred and Monta (Higgs) Lauderdale and was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and former member of Newcomer’s Club, Out-to-Lunch Bunch and Eastern Start Chapter 34 of Wheaton. She worked at the Dollar General Store in Neosho until the age of 80. She loved her family and friends, but her granddaughters were the light of her life.
Wilma married Leslie A. Phillips on March 20, 1948, in Wheaton and he preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1986.
She is survived by a daughter, Leslie Marty and husband, Dave; two granddaughters, Courtney Convirs and husband, Dewayne, and Kim Smith and husband, Branden; and three great- grandchildren, Kael Smith, Kanten Smith and Kynden Smith.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Muncie Chapel Cemetery, Dr. Jerry Seigel will officiate.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
