So many events that we go to serve some sort of food?  Is it possiblt to change that?

On New Years Eve we went out for supper.  Red Lobster. It was great!  Later that night we got a call that my husbands grandfather was not going to make it through the night.  We went right to the nursing home and they offered us food.  Food, to me, is comforting in a time of need so of course I took it, that and I had a hungry three year old.

Ed ended up passing away at 9:03pm.  We got home around 11:44, just before midnight.  So, what did we do to ring in the New Year?  We ate ice cream with lots of toppings.  I can't say it helped me feel better about anything, possibly worse than before knowing that I had eaten it and didn't need to.

We went to Beach for the wake and funeral this weekend and at both, of course, there was lots of food served.  Bars, cookies, salads, and every other Catholic Church Ladies Alter Society food you could think of.

As I sat there I thought to myself, "is this really what I need right now?"  I'll be the first to admit, I'm an emotional eater and I love food.  However, I need to make a change.  I haven't made a New Years Resolution yet, so maybe that could be one of them.

In 2013, I resolve to change my emotional eating.

What are some of your New Years Resolutions?
