  • A single-vehicle crash just south of Joplin sent one Newton County man to the hospital early Monday morning.
    Carl D. Moore, 23, of Neosho, received moderate injuries when his 2009 Nissan Sentra ran off the roadway and overturned.
    Moore was traveling eastbound on Missouri Highway 86, five miles south of Joplin, when the accident occurred.
    He was taken for treatment to Freeman West Hospital, in Joplin.
    Moore was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, the patrol report noted.
    The Nissan was totaled in the crash.

    A Neosho man received serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.
    Taylor T. Palmer, 18, was traveling at 4:30 a.m. southbound on Raccoon Road, one mile south of Granby, when the 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix he was driving traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.
    Palmer was taken for treatment via private vehicle to Freeman Neosho Hospital.
    He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the patrol report.
    The Pontiac was totaled in the accident.
