Will Roark continues to dominate the competition this wrestling season as he helped his Seneca Indians to a tie for sixth place at the 41st Platte County Invitational on Saturday.
Roark breezed through the 120-pound weight class over the weekend as he went 7-0 to capture first place. Two of Roark’s victories came against the same individual in St. James Academy’s Reese Cokeley.
Roark first went to battle with Cokeley in the third round where he scored a 3-2 win on a tiebreaker, and then saw him again in the championship match where he scored a 6-2 decision to capture the title. The wins pushed Roark’s season win-loss total to 36-1.
The Indians’ Logan Grady was the only other top-five finisher as he brought home third place after going 6-1 overall at 145 pounds. Grady’s only loss came in the semifinals to Jake Walker of Skutt Catholic, where he was pinned in 2:00. Grady won each of his first five matches by pin, before winning his third place mach against Jourdan Karsten of Platte County win an 8-5 decision.
