  • Three Seneca players scored in double figures as the Indians rolled past Pierce City, 64-47, in varsity basketball action at Seneca High School on Tuesday.
    While both teams were consistent offensively throughout the game, the Indians were consistently better as they outscored the Eagles in each of the first three quarters to take a 52-34 lead into the fourth quarter.
    “I thought our kids played well tonight,” Indians coach Will King said. “Our defense wasn’t great in the first half, but I thought they got after it better in the third quarter, had a great third quarter and everyone played pretty well.”
    Seth Harris led the Indians with 17 points while Logan St. Clair pitched in 14 and Chance Smith 10. Kyler Ng followed with eight points while Bradley Jumper had seven, Elias Roelfesema six and Shane Murphy two.
    Cody Fitchpatrick had 16 for the Eagles.
    Seneca (12-6) entertains McDonald County at 6 p.m. Thursday.
