  • Pierce City got off to a quick start and the Seneca Lady Indians couldn’t recover as the Lady Eagles cruised to a 58-35 victory at Seneca High School on Tuesday.

  • Pierce City got off to a quick start and the Seneca Lady Indians couldn’t recover as the Lady Eagles cruised to a 58-35 victory at Seneca High School on Tuesday.
    Wasting no time, the Lady Eagles clamped down on defense and climbed out to an 18-3 lead by the end of the first quarter. They made that lead hold as the game was much closer the remainder of the way, with Pierce City edging Seneca 40-32 in the final three quarters.
    Krishna Merriman led the Lady Eagles with 24 points in the game while Bailey Hayward finished with 13, Christine Younker 10, Amber Wagner five, Emily Ashley four and Shania Hogan two.
    Bailey Skelton and Elena Wood both paced the Lady Indians with eight points while Willow Rhoades finished with six, Mirana Heath six, Annie Howard two, Molli Cooper one, Courtney Cook two and Rachel Butterfield two.
    Pierce City also won the “B” game, 33-24. Mikalee Kime led Seneca with six points.
    The Lady Indians host Mount Vernon at 6 p.m. Thursday.
