As more and more families are looking to stretch their dollars and budget their money, a class devoted to helping is just around the corner.
The Neosho United Methodist Church Christian Life Center, 111 N. Business 71/49, is hosting the Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace class.
It is a 12-week course starting at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6-April 24. The cost of the class is $90, which covers the kit, which is a wonderful resource that one will be able to take home and use for years to come.
You can register online at www.daveramsey.com - look for Neosho's class.
This is the first time the church has hosted the event.
"We just thought that it would be that the community could really use it, enjoy it and learn a lot from it," said Lisa Bechdoldt, organizer.
The teacher for the course is Mark Young. Childcare is included in the course and the light supper is provided for a minimal fee: $4 for adults and $2 for children/youth, but with a maximum of $12 for the whole family.
The course includes video classes and group discussions. Financial Peace University (FPC) presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely. According to information provided, "the course shows you how to create a budget that really works, set achievable goals and make things right for you and your family…financially, emotionally and spiritually…for good."
Bechdoldt's mother has taken the course.
"So she got all of the resources and I read and listened to all of her resources, so I know what a good course it is and how much you can learn from it," she said.
The class will last one hour each Wednesday. Those wanting to get registered should do so as soon as possible.
