Genette 'Genie' Kay Griffin, 71, entered into rest peacefully on Jan. 27, 2013, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Mo., after a battle with cancer.

Genette 'Genie' Kay Griffin, 71, entered into rest peacefully on Jan. 27, 2013, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Mo., after a battle with cancer.

Genie was born on June 26, 1941, in St. Paul, Minn., the daughter of Rodger and Mildred (Hull) Lindgren.

Genie had a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She raised four children, was a homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling. She was also a member of Splitlog Baptist Church in Goodman.


Genie is survived by her children; Kevin Lund and wife Angela, Elizabeth Dowell and her husband, Thomas, Frances Berg and her husband Brent; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; one brother, Kirk Lindgren and his wife, Marilee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rodger and Mildred Lindgren; and her daughter, Lorena Lund.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, at Splitlog Baptist Church in Goodman. Ministers Shannon Cobb and Chad Pendergraft officiating.

Cremation services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
