  • The Seneca boys basketball team downed Lamar, 64-59, in a Big 8 Conference tilt on Tuesday at Lamar High School.
    Trailing 31-24 at the half, the Indians took command in the third quarter and outscored the Tigers 18-8 to take the lead. Both teams then turned in their best quarters of the game in the fourth, but the Indians nudged them 22-20 to preserve the win.
    It was a big win for the Indians, who now sit at 14-6 overall and 2-0 in the Big 8.
    “I think our Big 8 is real tough, and I think it’s tough to go on the road in the Big 8 and get a win,” Indians coach Will King said. “I was real proud of the boys tonight.”
    Bradley Jumper led the Indians with 20 points while Logan St. Clair had 17, Elias Roelfsema one, Kyler Ng 15, Seth Harris nine and Chance Smith two.
    Tripp Tucker led Lamar with 16 points while Josh Garfield had 13 and Ben Bailey 10.
    The Indians are at Aurora at 6 p.m. Friday.
