Violet L. Johns, 80, entered into rest on January 29, 2013, at Freeman Neosho Hospital, Neosho, following a sudden illness.
She was born Dec. 6, 1932, in Maryville, Mo., to Frank Henry and Mabel Eleanor (Archer) Cornett.
Violet lived most of her life in the Neosho area and worked as a homemaker. She grew up singing at hootenannies, loved to crochet, and put together puzzles. She also operated an antique and collectible mall with her daughter, Sherry, for seven years, and loved to spend time with her family.
Violet married Dr. William F. Johns on June 14, 2003, and he survives.
She is also survived by her children; Dwayne Dabbs of Wichita, Kan., Sherry Dabbs of Joplin, Tammy Corse (Dan) of Rolla, Mo., brother Rollie Cornett of Texarkana, Texas; sisters, Cynthia Potter (Al) of Neosho, Doris Sexson (Jim) of Fairfield Bay, Ark.; sister-in-law, Shirley Cornett; brother-in-law Howard Woodward; two grandchildren, Holly Pesce (Micah), Ben Ward (Jamie); two great-grandchildren, Riley Pesce, Paxton Ward.
Violet was preceded in death by her step-daughter Janice Kay Turley; brother, Jerry Cornett, and sister, Shirley Woodward.
The body will be cremated and memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel Of Memories, Neosho; Pastor Dan Corse officiating.
Cremation services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
