The coaching matchup
While the big story leading up to the Super Bowl has been the Harbowl, not as much is being made about the actual coaching jobs these guys have done getting the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens to Super Bowl XLVII. And that's a shame, because both of them pulled the trigger on some big-time risky decisions.
The quarterback matchup
It won't be at high noon, and there won't be any tumbleweeds. Instead of a few frightened locals hiding in rain barrels, there'll be more than a hundred million people watching on TVs around the world. Super Bowl XLVII, for all the hype about power running games and savage defenses, will be a good old-fashioned duel: a main-street showdown between two armed and dangerous quarterbacks. Who'll have the quickest draw? Who'll have the truest aim? Between the Baltimore Ravens' Joe Flacco and San Francisco 49ers' Colin Kaepernick, who'll win the Super Bowl XLVII quarterback duel?
When the San Francisco 49ers square off with the Baltimore Ravens to decide who walks away with the Lombardi Trophy after Super Bowl XLVII, the NFL will be trying to top the monumental 111.3 million U.S. TV viewers it had in 2012. This game has plenty of storylines—brothers Jim and John Harbaugh squaring off, and Ray Lewis' last game, among others—and the matchup will have no problem drawing in the casual fan.
Interesting prop bets
Super Bowl XLVII has all sorts of interesting subplots, including Ray Lewis' last game, the brothers Harbaugh battling for sibling supremacy and Randy Moss' redemption. Who cares?
