  • The Neosho seventh grade boys basketball team made short work of Joplin East as the Wildcats swept them in a pair of games on Monday.
    The Neosho “A” team thumped East 50-26. Yeej Lee had a big game for the Wildcats with 14 points and eight steals. Brady Wise followed suit with six points and three assists, while Jarvis Funk had six points, four steals and four assists, Gavin Kelley had six points and four steals, and Keilan Moore added six points and five rebounds.
    Also scoring for the Wildcats was Zach Jennings with four points, while Hank Selig, Jared Scribner, Kaleb Moreland and Braxton Pennington had two apiece.
    Neosho “A” is now 9-3 overall.
    In the “B” game, Neosho walloped East 47-21. A.C. Marion paced the Wildcats with nine points and five rebounds, James Marion had eight points and three assists, Braxton Pennington got seven points and 10 rebounds, Grant Guillory tallied six points and four assists, Dalton Flory got four points and four assists, and Kaleb Moreland added two points and four steals.
    Other scorers for the Wildcats were Luke Kibler with seven points, and Davon Willis and Ethan Coon with two apiece.
    Neosho “B” is now 7-2 on the season.
