Neosho’s eighth grade boys basketball team is off to a 4-0 start this week after downing Nevada in a pair of games on Tuesday.
In the “A” game, the Wildcats trumped the Tigers, 49-40. Colton Marion led the team with 22 points, while Coleman Scott tossed in 13, Bryce Murphy six, Jon Moser and Connor Johnson three each, and Ethan Siler two.
The “B” Wildcats rolled the Tigers 43-18. Darren Hawkins sparkled with 20 points and 19 rebounds for Neosho, Shelby Hughes had 14 points, Payton Klier five and Spencer Beardon four.
The boys jumped all over Joplin East on Monday, winning a pair of games with relative ease.
In the “A” game, the Wildcats pounced the Eagles, 57-17. Three Wildcats finished in double figures as Siler rattled in 16 points, Murphy 12 and Moser 11. Meanwhile, Marion settled with nine points, Garett Weber had six and Johnson three. Scott contributed nine assists in Neosho’s effort.
Neosho “A” is now 6-7 overall and competes in the Tri-County Tournament on Monday at Joplin South.
The “B” Wildcats were just as dominant, throttling the Eagles 33-9. Hawkins splashed in 14 points for the Wildcats while Hughes netted 13, Beardon two, and Klier and Cam Gorham had one apiece.
Neosho “B” finished the season 8-2.
