It was raining threes at Seneca High School on Tuesday.
In a Big 8 Conference varsity boys showdown, Seneca and East Newton combined for 16 3-pointers. The Indians, however, were the more consistent team, and parlayed that consistency into a 68-45 win.
Kyler Ng poured in 27 points, including two of Seneca’s nine treys as a team, to lead the charge. Seneca scored no less than 15 points in any quarter, and outscored the Patriots in every frame.
“It think it was a good game,” Indians coach Will King said. “I’m proud of our guys for getting after it, and (they) played well as a team. It was a good battle, a good conference battle, as usual.”
Seth Harris added 11 points for the Indians, Logan St. Clair chipped in 10, Bradley Jumper 10, Jason Mendoza two, Shane Murphy six and Isaac Gayer two.
Sam Swartz paced the Patriots with 15, Colby Thomas had 10, Pate Powell two, Deion Clark eight, Rocky Liveoak five, Bryce Zimmerman two and Zach Deman three.
Harris had three 3-pointers while Murphy and Jumper added two for the Indians. Swartz had three for the Patriots, while Thomas and Clark added two each.
Seneca improves to 16-6 overall, 4-0 in the Big 8.
The Indians won the junior varsity contest, 47-38.
