  • A big second quarter lifted Lamar past the Seneca girls, 54-37, in a Big 8 Conference tilt on Monday.
    Things started well for the Lady Indians as they turned in a solid first quarter and led 13-11 at the end of the period. Things changed, however, in the second quarter as the Lady Tigers blew up and turned in 23 points in the frame.
    Lamar led 34-22 at halftime.
    The struggles continued for the Lady Indians in the third quarter as they managed just three points and fell behind 47-25. They managed to outscore Lamar 12-7 in the fourth.
    Ryan O’Sullivan led Lamar with 17 points, while Taylor Jackson added 11, Brooke McDonald 10, Chynna Moore seven, Emmie Robertson six and Trinity Cornell two.
    Courtney Cook paced Seneca with 12 points, while Molli Cooper tossed in 10, Mirana Heath five, Rachel Butterfield four, and Bailey Skelton and Annie Howard three each.
    Seneca won the junior varsity game, 38-28. Elena Wood led the Lady Indians with 16 points.
    The Lady Indians (8-16, 1-5 conference) entertain Cassville on Senior Night at 6 p.m. Thursday.
