Last Thursday, the Newton County Sheriff's Department served a search warrant for narcotics at 8454 Jasmine Dr., Neosho (halfway between Neosho and Joplin).
"We did serve a search warrant there for narcotics," Newton County Chief Deputy Chris Jennings said. "We did find components of a meth lab. Three people were arrested and we took custody of four children. Three children belonging to the residents and a fourth child to a woman who was staying there. All children were 5 and under."
Those arrested were: female Kristina R. Lehar, 28, who lives at that address. Also Levi L. Eichelberger, 32, of that address. Jennings said those two were the couple. Also arrested was Cassie N. Price, 28.
"She is the one that had one child and she just stays there with them," he said. "All three were charged with manufacturing a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child, for the four children that were in the house with the meth items. All four children were taken into DFS custody."
Jennings stated that to his knowledge that was the first time the sheriff's department has been to the address.
"We have dealt with these people before, but at different locations," he added.
Some of the items seized included Drano, security systems, and some unidentified liquids in containers.
"We didn't know if they (liquids) were in the process stage," Jennings said. "We recovered some dishes that had positive for methamphetamines."
Jennings also noted they recovered some stolen items.
"We also recovered some items that have been stolen from Walmart," he said. "Lehar had shoplifted, basically walked out of Walmart with some items."
