Bryant Jon Blakeley, 73, entered into rest at Mercy Hospital, Aurora, following a sudden illness.
He was born May 28, 1939 in Neosho, to Claude R. Blakeley Sr. and Gladys M. (Smith) Blakeley.
Bryant was a lifelong area resident and worked as a truck driver hauling local loads. He also worked for 15 years at Neosho Concrete and was currently working at Neosho Box and Wood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved to camp with his family and go hunting, fishing, and cutting firewood with his brother.
Bryant married Connie Gamble on June 22, 1989, in Miami, Okla., and she survives.
He is also survived by his children, Mendi and husband, Todd Brazil, Pittsburg, Kan., Chrystal Courtney, Granby, Chastity and husband, John Ellis, Neosho; four grandchildren, Cole, Leah, Devin, Landon, and one on the way.
Along with his parents, Bryant was preceded in death by his brother, Claude Blakeley Jr. on Oct. 31, 2012.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Diamond Cemetery; Minister Mike Whorlow officiating. Full military honors will be held graveside. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. today, at Clark Funeral Home Neosho.
