FAIRVIEW — The Fairview City Council gave approval to Della Cline to move in a single-wide mobile home on her property on Montgomery Street during Tuesday's city council meeting.
The lots are vacant now, but previously a mobile home sat on this lot.
"You are supposed to approach the council on a mobile home, they are supposed to see it, do the visual on it and see if it meets our standards," "said Lorie Heatley, Fairview city clerk. "She had pictures of the outside and the inside of unit."
Before Cline went to the council, she had to go around to her neighbors and ask if they had an opposition to her moving the mobile home in.
"She had it in writing that all of her neighbors were in agreement that she could place it there," Heatley said.
A member of the Cline family will be soon moving into the mobile home.
In other business, the council:
• Voted on a request from Heatley for a mailbox to handle any mail addressed to the city's physical address instead of its post office box.
"We get a lot of mail that they fail to put the P.O. box and so they send it to the physical address," she said. "And since all of the mail is now sorted over in Wheaton instead of Fairview, they kick it back. We have quite a bit of our mail being kicked back because it is sent to the physical address and there is no mail receptacle to put it in."
The council approved the measure.
The next council meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Fairview City Hall.
