  • SENECA — Seneca hit a snag in the third quarter and allowed Cassville to sneak back from a halftime deficit to upend the Lady Indians, 42-38, in a Big 8 Conference game at Seneca High School.
    After a solid first half, the Lady Indians led 23-21 at the intermission, but Cassville answered and held them to three points in the third quarter while taking a 30-24 advantage.
    Seneca wouldn't recover.
    Emily Speakman had a big night on the floor, and led the Lady Wildcats with 21 points.
    Courtney Cook, meanwhile, led Seneca with 12 points, while Molli Cooper added nine, Mirana Heath six, Bailey Skelton five, Elena Wood three, Rachel Butterfield two and Annie Howard one.
    The Lady Indians upended Cassville, 33-22, in the "B" game. Wood led the Lady Indians with 12 points.
    Seneca hosts East Newton in the first round of districts at 8:30 p.m. Monday.
