Seneca will share the Big 8 Conference championship for the second year in a row with Carl Junction and Mount Vernon, after the Indians defeated Cassville 47-39, and the Bulldogs topped the Mountaineers on Friday.
The Indians (18-7 overall, 6-1 conference) took charge after struggling to get going in the first quarter. Cassville led 8-6 after the first, but the Indians got going in the second and led 20-16 at the half. Seneca's defense stepped up again in the third period and held the Wildcats to six points to take a 30-22 lead.
Logan St. Clair paved the way for the Indians with 14 points, while Chance Smith added 10, Elias Roelfsema nine, Kyler Ng seven, Seth Harris five and Bradley Jumper two.
Garrett Kirk paced the Wildcats with 12 points.
The Indians begin play at the Class 3, District 12 Tournament on Tuesday in Seneca.
